When we think about winter driving, it is easy to picture snow-covered roads and long periods of sub-zero temperatures. But the reality often looks different. Roads may be dry or wet for most of the day and then change quickly as temperatures fall. You may leave the depot on clear roads and encounter completely different conditions later along your route. A local section of road may have frozen, a hill may suddenly require more traction, or a road that appears wet may be covered by a thin layer of ice.
Commercial vehicles have different tasks and operating conditions, but the need to keep moving when roads become slippery is the same. With Onspot Electric, we are making automatic traction available to more light commercial vehicles.
What is now Onspot began in 1977 when Swedish inventor Göran Törnebäck developed the first modern automatic tire chains for a local milk delivery truck. The goal was simple: to give drivers better traction on slippery roads without having to stop and install conventional tire chains.
