The Onspot Checklist: A Guide to Proper Operation

Written by Leonard D'Orlando,

School may be out for the summer but this time of the year is still a busy one for the majority of bus drivers and fleet directors.  There are several state and local conferences drivers attend that offer the latest information, insights, and training on a wide range of topics. Some conferences even offer a bus "Roadeo" where drivers can put their skills to the test.  This is also a time when many school districts re-focus their attention on the previous school year.

Here at Onspot our sales team attends these conferences as they provide us the opportunity to interact with our customers, share the latest information, and answer any questions about the automatic tire chain system.  Our current customers share their past winter driving stories while new customers ask questions about Onspots. We share operation and maintenance information (also found at and mention the importance of engaging the automatic tire chain system often.

Activating the Onspots is especially important if the complete system is left on the bus year round.  Two of the biggest advantages for doing this are that the system gets "exercised" and it helps new and veteran drivers gain a better understanding of how the system operates.  Our Driver Checklist is another tool that is used to further educate the driver on the proper operation of their Onspots.
