Casey LaDelle - YouTube star praises Onspot automatic tire chains, walks viewers through the process

Casey LaDelle — owner of a heavy rescue service in Oregon — shows off his Onspot tire chains, which help him rescue people and vehicles throughout the year. LaDelle, who hosts a popular YouTube channel, dedicated an entire episode to demonstrate the premiere brand of automatic tire chains.

Snow and ice covered the backroads of Oregon as Casey LaDelle — owner of a heavy rescue service — spoke into his phone to nearly 200,000 YouTube subscribers. The 17-minute video titled “What are automatic tire chains, and how do they work?” walks viewers through adding Onspot tire chains to LaDelle’s truck to get the small business owner back on the road — earning money and rescuing people and vehicles.

“When I bought my truck, automatic tire chains were on the top of my list. For as much as I’m in the snow, it just makes sense as far as time safety on the side of the road,” LaDelle says in the video, which he posted in late January 2023. “I wanted Onspot chains since they are the premier brand of the automatic tire chains, and I mentioned that in a video. A few weeks later, Onspot reached out to ask me whether I would like to run a set of their chains at no cost to me, and of course I said ‘yes.’ It's awesome they were watching and paying attention, and that shows how responsive and attentive the company is to customers.”

LaDelle picks up his truck from Utility Trailer in Redmond, Oregon, which installed the tire chains. He was gitty as he revved up his engine and headed out to test the tire chains. LaDelle talked about his business, Cascade Heavy Rescue, based in Bend, Oregon, which offers off-road recovery, towing services and roadside assistance, like long distance towing and transport of cars, pickups, RVs and semitrucks. He doesn’t have the time or energy to pull over and manually apply tire chains every time he gets a call.

“Now, with Onspot automatic tire chains, I can just keep on driving and cruise right on by the chain up areas. All I have to do is flip on a switch, and the tire chains go down and we're good to go,” LaDelle says as he switches from a camera on him in the cab to a magnetic camera he attached to the bottom of his truck that shows the tire chains in action.

“You can engage them at any speed up to 25 miles an hour; then once they're engaged, you can go up to 35 miles an hour with the chains going,” he adds. “You can disengage them at any speed, but it's recommended that you slow down to like the 25 again because they are spinning when you flip them up, and if they have enough momentum, they might hit stuff.”

Nearly 1,200 viewers commented on the video. Subscriber William Benner wrote: “You are absolutely going to love these chains. I've had Onspot chains on my bus for years and wouldn't be without them. Our district has 80+ buses covering an extremely large area with routine ice- and snow-covered roadways during winter months. These chains not only make it nice for our drivers but enable to deliver students in a timely and safe manner. Great to see you support such a miracle mechanical product. It amazes me that every fire truck, ambulance and or UPS truck are not equipped with these.”

Viewer Bernie Cavahagh wrote: “I didn't even know auto chains were a thing or how they worked before watching your channel. Absolutely wonderful idea and the concept is brilliantly realized.”

Richard Thomas thanked LaDelle for “the best video” he’s seen about how to use automatic tire chains. It helps, Thomas added, to see a regular guy go through the process of purchase, install and application. Cisco’s Custom Cycles thanked Onspot and Utility Trailers for their support of a small business owner: “This is truly a game changer for Casey’s business, and he helps a lot of people. This means more money going into his home to care for his beautiful family, then those businesses deserve my gratitude.”

This dedication to and support of customers sets Onspot apart, LaDelle says. The company not only produces a quality product but also stands at the ready to assist and support customers.

After a smooth and successful drive and rescue using the tire chains, LaDelle shows viewers all the space he will save by removing the weighty manual tire chains stored on his truck. “I can fill this space with another toolbox because tool storage is where I'm seriously lacking on this truck, so that’s another advantage of auto chains,” he says.

Hearing LaDelle walk through the process and benefits helps viewers consider how Onspot will increase profits and improve the quality of their work lives.
